Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Quang Phương works with Quảng Ngãi Province’s leaders

Member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Trần Quang Phương, on July 8 met with the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province about the province’s socio-economic development, national defense, and security.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, reported that in the first half of 2025, the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 11.51 per cent, ranking first out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

Industrial production rose, and state budget revenue was estimated at nearly VNĐ 17 trillion, reaching 45.9 per cent of the annual estimate. Public investment disbursement exceeded the national average.

The province achieved 100 per cent of its plan to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses. National defense and public security were strengthened, and social order was maintained.

The province also coordinated with the Ministry of Construction to speed up the Quảng Ngãi – Kon Tum expressway project.

Quảng Ngãi has completed the restructuring of its two-tier local government system on schedule, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations.

At the meeting, provincial leaders proposed that the Government direct central ministries to address difficulties related to land use identification, regulations on investors advancing funds for resettlement projects, ODA loan usage, and reimbursement for site clearance and compensation activities.

Concluding the meeting, NA’s Vice Chairman, Trần Quang Phương, commended Quảng Ngãi for its socio-economic progress and effective implementation of the two-tier local government model.

He acknowledged the province's challenges following the administrative merger and urged continued strong leadership to achieve sustainable development.

He encouraged the province to review stalled and problematic projects and propose suitable solutions, issue timely legal frameworks aligned with central guidance, and focus on unlocking local potential with breakthrough and feasible solutions.

He emphasized accelerating digital transformation, developing digital infrastructure, and modernizing public administration.

He also asked Quảng Ngãi to support civil servants transferred from former Kon Tum province, helping them stabilize work and life, and ensuring entitlements for retirees are fully addressed.

The National Assembly delegation committed to forwarding the province’s proposals to the relevant authorities for timely consideration and resolution.
