On July 8, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngọc chaired a meeting with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (DoCST) to discuss its operations in the first half of 2025.

Reported by the leader of the DoCST, after the merger, the department currently has four professional divisions, five public non-business units, and 256 staff.

In the first 6 months of the year, the sector completed 16 out of 47 assigned tasks. The remaining tasks are being accelerated for implementation.
In the coming time, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector will focus on some key tasks such as implementing the Bài Chòi Project, preparing a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of Sa Huỳnh Cultural Relic as a World Heritage Site, awarding the titles of People's Artisans and Outstanding Artisans, preserving the intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, and celebrating major historical events of the province.
In addition, the DoCST will organize the grassroots Sports Festivals towards the Provincial Sports Festival in 2026. They will host and participate in national sports tournaments, implement the program on prevention and control of child drowning, and develop mass sports movements.
The DoCST will also implement the review of the Tourism Development Project for the period to 2025, organize a workshop on the development orientation of Lý Sơn National Tourist Area, and promote community tourism and rural tourism models associated with OCOP products.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngọc recognized the efforts to stabilize the organization and maintain the professional activities of the entire sector after the merger.

In the coming time, Y Ngọc asked the Department to review programs and plans in 2025 to propose implementation schemes, ensuring the set progress.
as The DoCST need to focus on managing and promoting facilities managed by the sector, creating conditions for organizing recreational activities for people. They need to promote local tourism products, and develop new and professional tourism products, she added.
Notably, the Department needs to advise on effectively implementing large-scale and important activities in the upcoming time. These include activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day on September 2 and propaganda activities for Party Congresses at all levels and other related events.
The PPC’s Standing Vice Chairwoman requested that the DoCST further promote the achieved results and thoroughly address the shortcomings and limitations to foster the development of culture, sports, and tourism after the merger.
