On July 8, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm chaired a meeting with the Department of Construction (DoC) to evaluate its implementation results in the first six months of the year.

The DoC currently has 10 sub-departments and six affiliated non-business units, with nearly 300 cadres, civil servants, and public employees.
In the first six months, the DoC effectively implemented state management tasks in the fields of planning, urban development, housing, real estate, construction materials, technical infrastructure, and construction investment.
The Department has advised and approved many important projects, such as the zoning plan of MĐ1 belonging to Măng Đen tourism area, appraisal of six zoning plans in the Dung Quất Economic Zone, and submission of dossiers of urban area projects in Măng Đen town.
At the same time, the DoC completed the urban development dossier of Lý Sơn and Quảng Ngãi city, implemented resolutions and programs on urban development to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The DoC has handled problems related to state-owned housing, removed difficulties for real estate projects, organized meetings and dialogues with investors to solve problems, and accelerated project progress.
The DoC is currently advising on the housing development strategy of Quảng Ngãi province to 2030, with a vision to 2050.
After the merger, the DoC directly manages six national highways with a length of 541km, 24 provincial roads with a totoal length of 866km, 13 district roads, 12 inland waterways, and 3 ports: Sa Kỳ, Bến Đình, Lý Sơn.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm emphasized that the DoC plays a crucial role and has a significant impact on the province's socio-economic development.

The PPC’s Vice Chairman requested the DoC to assign relevant professional agencies to review all legal normative documents issued by the two provinces before the merger, then propose appropriate adjustments.
Sâm assigned the DoC to take the lead in proposing and selecting a unit to prepare the pre-feasibility study report for the Quảng Ngãi – Kon Tum expressway project, and advise the PPC on the next steps.
Based on the recommendations of the DoC, the PPC’s Vice Chairman requested the Department of Finance to review, study and support departments and sectors in arranging working offices, and allocate funds to digitize documents and records.
With the experience and capabilities of its leadership team, officials, and staff, Sâm expressed his confidence that the DoC will continue to effectively fulfill its assigned roles and responsibilities in the time to come.
