Politburo Member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Trần Quang Phương, held a voter meeting in Kon Tum Ward on July 7, with online connections to 10 communes in the western area of Quảng Ngãi Province.
He was joined by Alternate Central Committee Member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial NA Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, U Huấn, along with other NA deputies of the 15th tenure. Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngọc also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, voters raised key issues, including the need to attract investment to industrial zones to create local jobs, and to upgrade transportation infrastructure, especially inter-communal roads in remote areas.
They also called for support policies for disadvantaged regions, more teachers, and better assistance for poor students.
Regarding poverty reduction programs, voters emphasized transparency in the distribution of funds, land, seedlings, livestock, and clean water.
Voters also expressed concern over the slow progress of the Trường Chinh road project in Kon Tum Ward, which is affecting local livelihoods.
They urged action on long-delayed or stagnant projects, especially the FLC project, to avoid negative impacts on the community and investment climate.
Speaking at the meeting, on the occasion of the 78th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), Vice Chairman Trần Quang Phương extended his sincere gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious service to the revolution.
He affirmed that the Party and State always honor the great contributions and sacrifices of war heroes and veterans.
Phương also called on voters to continue supporting the Party and State’s policies, especially the two-tier local government model, economic and social development, national unity, and the preservation of revolutionary traditions and cultural identity to build a better life.
On this occasion, he presented 15 gifts to policy beneficiary families in Kon Tum Ward, each including goods worth VNĐ 1 million and VNĐ 2 million in cash, encouraging them to overcome difficulties.
