Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang meets with the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria.
VIENNA – A delegation from Quảng Ngãi Province, led by Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, met with the Embassy of Việt Nam in Austria and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) on July 10 to promote cooperation in investment, technology, innovation and human resource development.
During the meetings, the delegation held talks with Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vũ Lê Thái Hoàng and Phillip Winkler, Director for Asia-Pacific at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang thanked the Vietnamese Embassy and the chamber for supporting stronger Việt Nam–Austria relations and helping connect localities and businesses with international partners.
Highlighting Quảng Ngãi's development potential following the provincial merger, he said the province offers favourable conditions for industrial development, logistics, renewable energy, high-quality agriculture and tourism.
He called for continued support in promoting Quảng Ngãi as an investment destination and introducing Austrian businesses and investors to opportunities in the province.
The chairman also proposed cooperation in attracting Austrian investment to VSIP Quảng Ngãi and VSIP II, with a focus on developing high-tech industries, including semiconductors, integrated circuits and artificial intelligence (AI).
He expressed interest in strengthening links with Austrian innovation and startup centres to advance digital transformation, scientific research and technology applications.
Quảng Ngãi is also seeking partnerships with leading Austrian and European logistics and port operators to maximise the potential of Dung Quất Deep-water Port as a future international cargo transshipment hub.
In trade, the province aims to expand exports of local specialties, including cinnamon, Lý Sơn garlic, Ngọc Linh ginseng and internationally certified organic agricultural products, while promoting investment and trade exchanges between the two sides.

At the meeting with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the provincial delegation also discussed cooperation in vocational training, skilled workforce development, renewable energy and strategic investment in wind and solar power projects.
Ambassador Vũ Lê Thái Hoàng said Quảng Ngãi has strong advantages in renewable energy, eco-tourism and resort tourism.
He encouraged the province to accelerate technological innovation, attract major investors and create favourable conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The ambassador also shared opportunities for vocational training and labour cooperation with Austria and Germany, reaffirming the embassy's commitment to supporting Quảng Ngãi in expanding partnerships with Austrian organisations and businesses.
Phillip Winkler welcomed Quảng Ngãi's cooperation proposals, particularly in renewable energy, where Austria has advanced expertise and technologies.
He pledged that the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber would continue to facilitate long-term cooperation between Austrian and Vietnamese businesses.
