QUẢNG NGÃI — Quảng Ngãi Province is seeking to deepen cooperation with Électricité de France (EDF), one of the world’s leading energy companies, as part of its strategy to attract investment in clean energy and sustainable industrial development.
The commitment was highlighted during a working session between a provincial delegation, led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, and EDF executives in France as part of the province’s official visit.

The delegation was welcomed by EDF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Fontana and senior executives of the French state-owned energy group.
Expressing appreciation for EDF’s hospitality, Giang introduced Quảng Ngãi’s development potential, emphasizing the strategic role of Dung Quất Economic Zone, a 45,000-hectare multi-sector economic hub that hosts Việt Nam’s national oil refining and energy centre, heavy industry, metallurgy and a major logistics network. The zone also benefits from the country’s highest investment incentives on land and taxation.
He also highlighted the VSIP Quảng Ngãi Industrial, Urban and Service Complex, which covers 1,700 hectares and has attracted investment in light manufacturing, supporting industries, high-tech production and green industries.
The province is simultaneously developing VSIP II Quảng Ngãi to accommodate additional domestic and foreign investors.
Positioning itself as a key energy and industrial hub in central Việt Nam, Quảng Ngãi is prioritising investment in renewable energy, clean energy, energy infrastructure, energy transition and environmentally sustainable industries.
Provincial leaders described EDF as a global leader in renewable energy, energy storage and low-carbon technologies, expressing their hope that the company would explore investment opportunities aligned with both its business strategy and Quảng Ngãi’s long-term development goals.
Giang also called on EDF to support knowledge sharing between French experts and Quảng Ngãi’s authorities and businesses in the operation of smart power systems and the development of clean energy projects.
He further invited EDF to help connect the province with French enterprises interested in investing in energy projects in Dung Quất Economic Zone, Bờ Y International Border Gate Economic Zone, and the VSIP industrial parks.

The group is a global leader in low-carbon electricity generation, smart grid technologies and nuclear energy.
