Quang Ngai achieved significant results in socio-economic development
At the meeting, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang reported the delegation about the provincial socio-economic achievements.
Quang Ngai province has achieved remarkable success in various sectors, surpassing all 27 comprehensive targets and exceeding 11 of them in 2024.
The province saw a 4.07 per cent increase in GRDP, reaching an average of $ 4,460 per person.
Additionally, the economic scale surpassed 132,581 billion VND, with total social investment capital reaching 68,865 billion VND.
Key achievements include exceeding targets in industrial production, exports, and tourism.
The province has also made positive strides in administrative reform, creating a more favorable investment and business environment.
Furthermore, the poverty rate has decreased significantly, especially in mountainous areas.
Overall, Quang Ngai has successfully implemented national target programs and consistently followed central government policies.
At the meeting, the province proposed important projects, including the National Oil Refinery, Petrochemical, and Energy Center in Dung Quat Economic Zone, and the development of Ly Son Island District into a Sea-Island Tourism Center.
Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, urges Quang Ngai to focus on strategic breakthroughs
Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, praised the achievements of Quang Ngai province; however, he pointed out some areas for improvement.
He emphasized the importance of implementing key resolutions and directives from the Party and Government, promoting self-reliance and unity, and taking innovative and strategic actions.
The Prime Minister urged Quang Ngai province to focus on implementing plans to boost science and technology development, attract resources through public-private partnerships, and improve infrastructure and human resources.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen the Party building and political system in the province.
The Prime Minister called on Quang Ngai province to issue plans and assign responsibilities to implement various resolutions related to science and technology development, digital transformation, and growth targets.
Furthermore, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and human resource training are essential for the province's progress.
Party building and political system improvement are highlighted, along with the urgency to eliminate temporary houses and develop social housing in key industrial areas.
Resources should be allocated for human development, social security, environmental protection, and reducing development gaps in the region.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of focusing on national defense, security, and social safety in Quang Ngai, as well as improving foreign affairs and combating IUU fishing.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development were tasked with addressing conflicts between mineral exploitation and forestry plans.
The Ministry of Finance provided guidance on utilizing resources for projects, with a focus on completing the coastal road project in Quang Ngai.
Additionally, investment in the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway was approved, with the central budget allocated for construction.
The Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway interchange connecting with Dung Quat Economic Zone is also set to be urgently deployed.
