On August 31, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with village elders, hamlet chiefs, and respected representatives of the province’s ethnic minority communities in 2025.
Attending the event were Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân; Member of the Party Central Committee Dương Văn Trang; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi U Huấn; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang; and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Đinh Thị Hồng Minh.
Following the recent merger, Quảng Ngãi now has a population of over 2.1 million, with ethnic minorities accounting for 25 per cent, comprising 43 distinct groups. The province is home to over 910 recognized community leaders, mostly residing in its western region.
Over the years, village elders, hamlet chiefs, and trusted people have played a vital role as bridges between the authorities and the people, actively promoting Party policies and State laws, ensuring security, protecting forests, and contributing to local socio-economic development.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang praised the significant contributions of these respected community leaders.
He affirmed that Quảng Ngãi will continue to implement effective ethnic policies, promote information technology and scientific applications, create jobs, ensure social welfare, and improve the living standards of ethnic minority communities.
On this occasion, provincial leaders presented gifts to outstanding village elders, hamlet chiefs, and respected people of Quảng Ngãi’s ethnic minority communities in 2025.
