On December 30 afternoon, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) held an online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025.
Reportedly, in 2024, the MoT started many road, railway and aviation projects according to its assigned tasks. Regarding roads, the Ministry started 8 projects, completed and put into operation 7 projects, bringing the total number of expressways nationwide to more than 2.021 km.
The progress of Long Thanh International Airport project and T3 Passenger Terminal project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport has basically been guaranteed.
In particular, in 2024, the National Assembly approved the investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis and the MoT is currently implementing the next tasks of this project.
During the year, the MoT disbursed more than 60,2/75,5 trillion VND, reaching 80 per cent of the plan, striving to disburse 95 per cent of the plan by the end of the fiscal year.

In 2025, the MoT will focus on mobilizing all resources to resolutely implement construction, ensuring progress and quality of projects, especially important national projects and key projects of the transport sector.
The Ministry of Transport plans to start 19 transport infrastructure projects and complete 51 infrastructure projects in 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the results achieved by the transport sector in 2024.
In the year 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the MoT to continue to perform well the assigned tasks and to do a good job of arranging and innovating the leadership and management apparatus from the central to local levels.
Ha also asked the MoT to focus on reviewing, evaluating and developing legal documents to ensure progress and quality, helping to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, minimizing administrative procedures, creating convenience for people and businesses.
