The Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union of Quảng Ngãi Province (the Provincial Youth Union) has just organized a meeting with Putney Student Travel (USA) in Tịnh Khê commune under the 2026 Summer International Volunteer Exchange Program sponsored by Putney Student Travel.
Attending the program were Đặng Văn Thân, Standing Vice Chairman of the Việt Nam Youth Union of Quảng Ngãi Province; Võ Minh Chính, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tịnh Khê commune; leader representatives of relevant provincial departments, along with 17 American volunteer students, and more than 60 local youth union members.

Speaking at the event, Đặng Văn Thân emphasized that 2026 marks the 18th year of the Summer International Volunteer Exchange Program in Quảng Ngãi. Over the past nearly two decades, the program has brought many practical benefits to the community through activities such as building charitable houses, teaching English, promoting environmental protection, and supporting social welfare initiatives. It has also played an important role in strengthening friendship, understanding, and connection between Vietnamese and American youths.
Thân expressed his hope that the American student volunteers would enjoy a meaningful and memorable summer in Quảng Ngãi Province, gaining valuable experiences while serving the local community.. He encouraged them to become "ambassadors of friendship", helping promote the positive image of Việt Nam and its people. He also urged local youth union members to actively support the delegation throughout the program.
As approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the 2026 Summer International Volunteer Exchange Program is being implemented from July 1 to 17, 2026. During this period, groups of American student volunteers will help build three charitable houses for local disadvantaged families, organize English classes, participate in cultural exchange and environmental protection activities, and take part in many experiential activities with local youths in Tịnh Khê commune and the Lý Sơn Special Zone.
Total project capital is about VNĐ 278,747,400, equivalent to US$ 11,094.

As assigned, the Youth Union of Quảng Ngãi province is responsible for receiving, managing the program and coordinating with Putney Student Travel and relevant agencies to implement the project in compliance with the regulations in Government Decree No. 313/2025/ND-CP dated December 8, 2025, and other relevant regulations.
The Department of Foreign Affairs will preside over and coordinate with relevant units to strengthen the management of activities, cooperation, and aid mobilization of Putney Student Travel in the locality, ensuring full compliance with the law.

The Summer International Volunteer Exchange Program is an annual collaborative activity between the Youth Union of Quảng Ngãi province and Putney Student Travel, contributing to strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, promoting the spirit of volunteerism, and fostering friendship between Vietnamese and American youth.
