The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in Quảng Ngãi has brought economic benefits and sustainable income to rural people, contributing to the transformation of agricultural production towards commodities.
According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Quảng Ngãi province currently has 640 OCOP products, ranging from three stars or more. Two OCOP products have met five-star standards.
As of June 30, the old Quảng Ngãi province has had 350 three to five-star products, and the old Kon Tum province has had 290 three to four-star products. After the merger, the new Quảng Ngãi province has 640 three to five-star OCOP products.
Two products from Quảng Ngãi that have received five-star OCOP ratings are: Garlic from Phú Sinh Trading and Service Co., Ltd., Lý Sơn, and Quảng Ngãi Malt from Quảng Ngãi Sugar Joint Stock Company.
In addition, there are 48 four-star OCOP products, and 590 three-star OCOP products.
Quảng Ngãi is focusing on reorganizing the apparatus and building specialized units in charge of OCOP at the commune, ward, and special zone levels.
In addition, the province will promote the standardization of products associated with the advantages and conditions of each locality.
Quảng Ngãi will also strengthen trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand for OCOP products through fairs, exhibitions, and events to introduce unique OCOP products of the province.
