As of now, Sơn Tây has become the second mountainous district in Quảng Ngãi province to complete the program of eliminating makeshift and dilapidated houses.
Under the program, Sơn Tây district targeted 617 houses, including 507 newly built and 110 renovated houses.
Đinh Trường Giang, Vice Chairman of the Sơn Tây District People's Committee, said that the total funding needed for the project amounted to nearly VNĐ 34 billion, including over VNĐ 14 billion allocated from the central government, and nearly VNĐ 2 billion from provincial budgets; the remainder was drawn from the district’s funds and contributions from local sponsors.
Despite the rugged terrain of Sơn Tây, local authorities of Sơn Tây maintained a strong sense of responsibility to ensure that the construction and renovation work was completed on schedule.
The program was supported by individuals and organizations inside and outside the district, helping the program reach its goal ahead of schedule.
