Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, has signed Official Dispatch No. 2802/UBND-KTN directing the organization of activities of Việt Nam Sea and Islands Week (June 1-8), responding to World Oceans Day 2025 (June 8).
The PPC’s Chairman assigned agencies, units and localities, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to focus on disseminating the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and international laws on seas and islands, the legal rights and interests at sea of Việt Nam, the position, role and importance of seas, islands and oceans.
In addition, they were asked to organize seminars, talks, and forums on the application of science and technology in the management and sustainable use of marine resources, and share effective models of domestic solid waste classification at source on islands and in coastal areas.
Press agencies, radio and television stations, portals/websites of agencies, units, and localities should actively propagate about the activities of the Việt Nam Sea and Islands Week, spreading the theme "Green technology for sustainable oceans".
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will take the lead and collaborate with relevant departments, sectors, local authorities, and other units to organize practical and impactful activities in response to the Việt Nam Sea and Island Week and World Oceans Day 2025.
World Oceans Day 2025 has the theme “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us” and the Việt Nam Sea and Island Week 2025 has the theme “Green Technology for Sustainable Oceans”.
