On August 14, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi province, U Huấn, chaired a working session with a delegation from the Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, led by Deputy General Director Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Đạt, to discuss cooperation in implementing digital transformation initiatives in the province.

Attending the meeting were Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Cao Phúc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, and leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies.
Reportedly, after one year of implementing the strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the 2024–2028 period between the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee and Viettel Group, the two sides have achieved notable results.
Viettel has completed mobile and internet coverage to Monic hamlet, the last uncovered area of Quảng Ngãi, pioneered 5G trials and commercial deployment, achieving the highest 5G coverage rate in key areas.

In building digital government, digital economy, and digital society, Viettel has provided digital transformation training for provincial Party and government leaders; supported the province in developing the implementation plan for the National Data Strategy to 2030; cooperated with provincial agencies to deploy shared information systems and databases; and promoted cashless payments, especially in rural areas and traditional markets.
Viettel has also supported local businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, in adopting digital platforms, assisted businesses and households in bringing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms, helped improve production processes with modern, innovative technologies, and expanded digital transformation in education, healthcare, agriculture, culture, tourism, and environmental management.
At the meeting, Quảng Ngãi and Viettel discussed and proposed key tasks for continued cooperation, including expanding mobile and internet coverage to western and border areas, achieving full 5G coverage across the province, consulting and implementing a cost-effective land database, and developing IoT and IOC models.
On behalf of the Viettel delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Đạt praised Quảng Ngãi’s potential and advantages, thanked the province for its support, and affirmed Viettel’s commitment to continuing its strategic partnership.

Speaking at the meeting, U Huấn acknowledged and highly appreciated Viettel’s active and effective cooperation across multiple fields and expressed his hope that Viettel will continue providing practical products and solutions to advance e-government, the digital economy, and the digital society, while promoting sustainable digital transformation in the future.
