Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính chaired the second meeting of the Government’s Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06.
Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, and provincial committee members attended the session virtually from Quảng Ngãi.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced Prime Minister’s decisions to restructure the Steering Committee and establish three task forces on Project 06, innovation and digital transformation, and administrative reform.
Reports highlighted strong progress in digital transformation: over 11,500 5G stations built, mobile internet speeds in the global top 20, e-commerce up 22 per cent, and cashless payments growing 28.7 per cent in early 2025.
The ICT sector recorded exports of $49.4 billion, up 16.2 per cent.
Tax management and e-invoicing also improved, with e-commerce tax revenue rising 19 per cent to 34.5 trillion VND.
Project 06 implementation continues to expand, with over 63 million digital ID accounts activated and 58 essential online public services launched.

Prime Minister Chính asked to cut administrative red tape, prioritize citizens and businesses, boost public-private partnerships, and enhance leadership efficiency.
He urged to accelerate progress across three strategic pillars: digital institutions, digital infrastructure, and digital workforce.
