QUẢNG NGÃI —Tây Trà Bồng Commune must make stronger efforts to fully tap its potential and advantages to boost socio-economic development, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên said at a working session with the commune’s Party Standing Board on December 5ᵗʰ.
Secretary Hồ Văn Niên commended Tây Trà Bồng for completing repairs to houses of 64 households affected by recent natural disasters, and requested the commune to finish building new homes for 10 households whose houses were completely destroyed, no later than January 31ˢᵗ, 2026.
He asked the commune to review landslide–affected traffic routes and prioritise repairs, complete clean-water facilities for daily use, and accelerate planning for the commune centre to better serve local residents.
Attention must also be given to healthcare, education, and strengthening the local contingent of civil servants, he said.
Niên stressed the need for Tây Trà Bồng Commune to make full use of its strengths to drive economic growth, proactively restructure crops, and create stable incomes for residents, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
He also urged the commune to plan safe resettlement areas for households at risk of landslides, maintain grassroots-level security and order, and make thorough preparations for the upcoming elections of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.
Tây Trà Bồng Commune covers more than 129 sq.km and is home to over 8,000 people, more than 97 per cent of whom are ethnic minorities. The commune consists of 14 villages and 24 Party-affiliated organisations with over 416 Party members.
