Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Y Ngọc, on July 17 chaired a working session with the Department of Health to review the results of the first half of 2025 and discuss priorities for the remaining months of the year.
At the meeting, Director of the Department of Health Võ Văn Thanh reported that the department had basically fulfilled its assigned targets and professional duties.
Key areas such as organizational restructuring, digital transformation, administrative reform, and implementation of National Project 06 have been carried out actively and on schedule.
Despite a heavy workload and high reform demands, the health sector has maintained stable operations and disease control efforts.
Following the recent merger, the Department now includes 6 specialized divisions, 1 sub-department, 43 public service units, 269 commune-level clinics and infirmaries, and 5 regional general clinics under the Regional Medical Centers.
With over 7,770 staff members—nearly 1,900 of whom are doctors—the new system officially came into operation on July 1 and has quickly stabilized.
Health services continue to operate smoothly across all levels, ensuring no disruption in care, especially at the grassroots level.
Medical services, disease prevention, environmental health, population work, and social protection policies have all been maintained during the transition.
Medicine and medical supplies are adequately provided, and public hospitals are improving service quality, including fast-tracking the implementation of electronic medical records.
The department is also focusing on population policies in ethnic minority areas and ensuring uninterrupted social welfare services for vulnerable groups.
Administrative procedures are handled efficiently, with 100 per cent of documents processed ahead of deadlines, contributing to higher satisfaction among citizens and businesses.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc praised the health sector’s achievements, particularly its ability to maintain operations during organizational restructuring.
She emphasized the need for continued unity, flexibility, and initiative to overcome remaining challenges and fulfill upcoming targets.
She instructed the Department to finalize its internal structure in alignment with the new two-tier government system, review and propose updates to relevant policies and legal frameworks, and assess infrastructure and equipment needs for future investment planning.
The Vice Chairwoman also called for further digital transformation and the adoption of smart healthcare technologies to improve service quality.
