Quảng Ngãi - Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee, Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, on July 16 received a delegation from the Diocese of Kon Tum led by Father Đỗ Hiếu, Vicar General of the Diocese, during their courtesy visit to provincial leaders.
The visit took place shortly after the administrative merger of the former Quảng Ngãi and Kon Tum provinces into the new Quảng Ngãi Province.
Also attending the meeting were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, along with leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party’s Commission for Mass Mobilization and Propaganda, the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and other relevant agencies.
Father Đỗ Hiếu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated the province on its recent formation.
He expressed his confidence that, under the leadership of the Party Committee, Quảng Ngãi would continue to grow and prosper.
Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân welcomed the delegation and extended best wishes for peace and wellbeing to the clergy and Catholic community in the diocese.
She emphasized that the unification of the two provinces marks a significant milestone, bringing together the strengths of both regions to create new momentum for socio-economic development.
She called on the Kon Tum Diocese to continue serving as a spiritual pillar for the Catholic community, promoting legal compliance and cooperation with local authorities to build a strong, united, and culturally rich society.
The harmony between religious communities and the government, she noted, is essential for the sustainable development of Quảng Ngãi Province.
