Quảng Ngãi - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Y Ngọc, on August 21 chaired a press conference to provide updates on the province’s socio-economic performance in the first seven months of 2025.
The event was attended by representatives of provincial departments, agencies, local authorities, and reporters from central and local media.
According to the report, the industrial production index rose by over 14 per cent year-on-year, while the average consumer price index increased by more than 3 per cent.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer services were estimated at VNĐ 76.58 trillion, up 13.6 per cent and equivalent to over 60 per cent of the annual plan.
Export turnover was down 13 per cent, reaching about 45 per cent of the yearly target, while imports rose nearly 11 per cent, fulfilling more than 53 per cent of the plan.
Transport and logistics revenue reached VNĐ 8.89 trillion, up 19.2 per cent.
Tourism welcomed 2.95 million visitors, an increase of 11 per cent, with revenue estimated at VNĐ 1.83 trillion, up 41 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Social welfare, healthcare, administrative reform, and public security continued to be strengthened.
At the press conference, journalists raised questions on issues such as upgrading National Highway 24, improving degraded roads, resource and environmental management, green and sustainable industrial development, and combating counterfeit goods and trade fraud.
Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc acknowledged the media’s questions and emphasized the importance of timely, accurate information sharing.
She requested departments to provide written responses to unresolved issues and to be proactive in communication.
She also called on the press to continue supporting the province by highlighting positive examples, innovative models, and good practices, thereby contributing to the successful achievement of Quảng Ngãi’s 2025 socio-economic goals.
