Quảng Ngãi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền on August 21 inspected the construction progress of the Sông Liên 2 Hydropower Project.
He was joined by leaders from the Departments of Industry and Trade, Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, along with local authorities.
The project, invested by Ba Tơ Power Joint Stock Company, is located on the Liên River in Ba Tơ and Ba Tô communes.
It includes two turbines with a total capacity of 12 MW and an investment capital of nearly VNĐ 500 billion. Construction began in July 2023.
Key components such as the left-bank dam, water intake, and combined sand-flushing and flood-discharge culvert have been completed.
Work is now focused on the right-bank dam, piano spillway, powerhouse, water tunnels, and hydro-mechanical equipment.
The plant is expected to be completed, filled, and operational by 2026.

Vice Chairman Hiền acknowledged the investor’s efforts and urged them to accelerate the remaining work while completing land and power line connection procedures as approved in the project plan.
He also emphasized the importance of disaster preparedness, labor safety, and equipment protection during the rainy season.
Given the challenging conditions in the area, he directed relevant departments and local authorities to continue guiding and supporting the investor to resolve difficulties, ensuring the project’s timely completion and connection to the national grid, contributing to local socio-economic development.
