In mid-April 2025, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Red Cross in coordination with the Project RENEW Office organized communication courses at two Primary Schools in Hành Thuận and Hành Dũng communes, Nghĩa Hành district.
Through activity models, the students have been equipped with useful knowledge to prevent mine and explosive accidents - dangers that still exist after the war.
According to the plan, by the end of April 2025, the program will continue its communication journey on prevention and mitigation of the harmful effects of mines and explosives to the remaining eight primary schools in communes of Ba Tơ and Nghĩa Hành districts.
This is an activity within the Communication and Support Program for Mine and UXO Victims in 2025, sponsored by Irish Aid.
Previously, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee approved Program on prevention and mitigation of the harmful effects of mines and explosives and support of tools and livelihoods for people with disabilities and post-war mine victims in Quảng Ngãi province in 2025, funded by Irish Aid through the RENEW Project Coordination Office with a total budget of VND 1 billion, equivalent to US$ 45,000.
The program is implemented in 10 communes of Ba Tơ and Nghĩa Hành districts, specifically: five communes of Ba Tơ district, including Ba Liên, Ba Thành, Ba Cung, Ba Bích and Ba Dinh; and five communes of Nghĩa Hành district, including Hành Tín Tây, Hành Tín Đông, Hành Thiện, Hành Dũng and Hành Thuận.
The project focuses on training and guiding communication support groups, implementing propaganda activities in the community and in schools, surveying, selecting, and providing livelihood support, supporting tools for 32 households of people with disabilities, victims of bombs and mines (about 8.5 million VND/household), and supporting prosthetic legs, artificial arms, wheelchairs for people with disabilities, victims of bombs and mines.
