The goal is to improve the effectiveness of state management of security and order, promote active communication and information sharing, and strengthen coordination with the police to prevent and combat cyber fraud.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged departments, organizations, and individuals to enhance awareness and knowledge about cyber fraud risks.
They are asked to educate residents on how to recognize, detect, handle, and prevent cyber fraud, as well as protect themselves and their property.
The provincial police are directed to increase efforts to educate the public about cyber fraud and detect and combat fraudulent activities online.
They should coordinate with other agencies to prevent and respond to cyber crimes, including receiving and investigating reports of fraudulent behavior.
This includes a focus on preventing property appropriation through telecommunications networks, the internet, and social media.
The Department of Information and Communications (DoIC) is tasked to prevent online fraud in 2024 by providing information and resources through various channels such as social networks, mass media, and grassroots information systems.
They aim to educate people, especially those in residential areas, about online fraud and ways to prevent it, with a particular focus on disadvantaged individuals.
The DoIC should also focus on strengthening state management in information and communication, managing advertising contents, supporting agencies in handling fake websites, deploying warning measures for mobile subscribers, managing phone sim cards, and connecting subscriber information databases to ensure accuracy.
The State Bank - Quang Ngai Provincial Branch- is asked to direct banks and credit institutions in the province to strictly manage account registration and opening activities, especially online accounts, inform staffs to proactively identify, guide and explain to customers, and have forms of propaganda and warnings about the tricks of high-tech criminals at transaction offices and branches in the area. In addition, the State Bank should coordinate with the police force in verifying and quickly handling information about unexpected transactions and transactions related to cybercrime.
