Attending the conference were delegates of Quang Ngai province and delegates from Binh Dinh and Quang Nam provinces.
The conference aimed to update and share information on the situation in the East Sea, the Party's viewpoints and policies, the State's legal policies on protecting Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty.
The event also updated information and regulations on Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU), and instructions on fishermen protection.
At the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Policy, Legality and Information, National Border Committee (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Phan Duy Hao emphasized in recent times, leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Border Committee have always paid attention to the information and propaganda work on seas and islands, especially in the three provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh.
These are three localities having important geographical locations, making great and direct contributions to the work of preserving and managing seas and islands and the development of the country's marine economy.
Hao hopes, through the topics reported at the conference, delegates will grasp the relevant information and better perform the tasks of management and propaganda, contributing to protecting Vietnam's sovereignty, sovereign rights at sea.
At the conference, experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented 4 topics relating to the importance of the East Sea, the situation in the East Sea, Policies and measures to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Party and State, combating IUU fishing and protecting fishermen.
