According to Đăk Đrinh Hydropower JSC, the company has completed periodic maintenance and repairs of hydraulic-mechanical equipment, tested spillway gates and prepared backup power generators and communication systems. It has also developed disaster response and emergency plans, coordinated reservoir operations with local authorities and connected reservoir operation data to relevant agencies.
For Nước Trong Reservoir, with a capacity of about 289.5 million cubic meters, the operator has inspected the dam and reservoir, carried out necessary maintenance and repairs, reviewed disaster and emergency response plans, and prepared personnel, equipment and supplies under the “four on-the-spot” principle.

After the inspection, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển stressed that extreme weather conditions make accurate forecasting, timely assessment and coordinated reservoir operations crucial. He requested all agencies and reservoir operators to put the safety of downstream communities and people’s lives first and further improve disaster response plans and scenarios.
He asked Đăk Đrinh Hydropower JSC to strengthen monitoring equipment to accurately calculate inflows and discharge volumes, maintain 24/7 monitoring and data transmission, and prepare scenarios for maintaining access to the facility in case roads are damaged or isolated by landslides.

Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển works with relevant agencies and units
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies and reservoir operators to review disaster response scenarios and ensure synchronized operations among irrigation and hydropower reservoirs and downstream areas. The department was also asked to further develop downstream flood maps and scenarios for timely evacuation of residents in high-risk areas.
The Department of Construction was assigned to review landslide-prone areas and vulnerable transport routes, while the Department of Industry and Trade was asked to strengthen inspections of hydropower reservoirs and coordinate closely on reservoir operation and dam safety.
Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển also requested Sơn Tây and Sơn Hà communes to strengthen local oversight and coordinate with reservoir operators on necessary infrastructure and safety measures. Relevant agencies must maintain close coordination during reservoir operations, balancing the top priority of downstream safety with water supply needs for production and residents’ livelihoods.
