On August 21, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm chaired a meeting with relevant departments, agencies and localities to review the implementation and disbursement of 2026 public investment capital in the western region of the province.

The meeting was held via videoconference with commune-level sites across the western region
In 2026, the Prime Minister allocated more than VNĐ7.72 trillion in public investment capital to Quảng Ngãi, with more than VNĐ3 trillion designated for the western region.
As of August 20, the region had disbursed more than VNĐ1.22 trillion, equivalent to nearly 40 per cent of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 41 per cent of the plan after a 5 per cent saving from the local budget. Three agencies and 29 localities recorded disbursement rates higher than the provincial and national averages.
Following reports and discussions, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm requested departments, agencies, investors and local authorities to strengthen their sense of responsibility, promptly address difficulties and strive to raise public investment disbursement in the western region to the national average.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm speaks at the meeting
Given the complex weather conditions in the region, investors and contractors must ensure absolute construction safety. When weather conditions permit, they should mobilize maximum personnel and equipment to accelerate construction and make up for delays.
Investors and local authorities were also asked to accelerate compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance; promptly address emerging bottlenecks; closely monitor project progress; and complete acceptance and payment procedures as soon as work volumes are completed to prevent year-end backlogs.
Investors with low disbursement rates must develop practical solutions and closely monitor progress on a weekly and monthly basis. Those with high disbursement rates should continue their efforts and avoid complacency.
