Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng receives a delegation from the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour
Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng held a working session on September 8 with a delegation from the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour, led by its Vice Chairman Lê Văn Nghĩa, to review progress on the project.
The Trade Union Social Housing Project in Tịnh Phong Commune is invested in by the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour.
It covers 1.47 hectares and comprises 603 apartments, including two nine-storey apartment buildings with 343 units and a 12-storey building with 260 units.
The project has a total investment of more than VNĐ597 billion. The Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour is currently selecting contractors, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng affirmed Quảng Ngãi’s strong determination to implement the project, particularly to meet the housing needs of workers and expand access to social housing for rent.
He thanked the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour for its coordination and called on the organization to continue supporting the project and accelerate its implementation in line with the plan.
The Provincial Department of Construction was assigned to serve as the focal point for coordinating with the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour and its project management board to closely monitor progress and promptly advise the Provincial People’s Committee on solutions to difficulties within its authority.
Issues beyond the province’s authority must be promptly reported to provincial leaders for coordination and resolution, he said.
The Department of Construction was also asked to work with the project management board to agree on a specific groundbreaking date based on actual conditions and project progress.
Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng requested that the groundbreaking ceremony be organized in a practical and meaningful manner, avoiding unnecessary formalities and emphasizing the province’s determination to deliver the project.
The project is expected to provide workers with better access to affordable housing while contributing to the development of a more stable living and working environment for the local workforce.
Quảng Ngãi’s efforts to accelerate the project also reflect the province’s broader commitment to expanding social housing and improving living conditions for workers as it promotes industrial and socio-economic development.
