Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang chaired a meeting with the province's functional departments and agencies to give opinions on removing obstacles related to the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex Project.
At the meeting, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company proposed the province to direct the People's Committee of Binh Son district and related departments and agencies to focus on completing the site clearance work for the Project, especially in the 51ha area - phase 2.
They requested to promptly approve specific land prices to implement the approval plan, reclaim land for the remaining area, and promptly complete the site, electricity, water lines, and mark-setting at the Ca Ninh Resettlement Area and Van Tuong Urban Area to speed up the land allocation to households.
The company also proposed the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Binh Son District People's Committee to propose other support funds according to Decision 32/QD-UBND dated October 14, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the same time, the Province should create conditions for Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to invest in ensuring power supply for the project.
In addition, the Company recommended that the Provincial People's Committee direct a plan to handle excess construction materials during the project implementation process.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company to actively coordinate with the Authority of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Parks (the Authority) and investors in the process of implementing the raw water supply plan for the project and establishing legal procedures for the location of the excess construction material storage site as soon as possible.
At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment was assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to advise the Provincial People's Committee to approve the Land Use Plan of Binh Son district until 2030.
This will help the Authority to have sufficient basis to consider and approve the investment policy for EVN to invest in the construction of the Dung Quat 2 220 kV Transformer Station in Dung Quat Economic Zone, ensuring power supply for the project when it comes into operation in the coming time, and promptly carry out land lease procedures for the area eligible for lease according to regulations.
