QUẢNG NGÃI — The People’s Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province has issued Plan No. 222/KH-UBND to implement the Digital Technology Industry Development Programme for the 2026–30 period, with a vision towards 2045.
The plan aims to effectively and synchronously implement the programme’s objectives and tasks across the province, while fostering the growth of a digital technology business ecosystem and supporting enterprises in innovation, research, development, application and production of digital technology products.
It is also designed to create favourable conditions for the development of “Make in Viet Nam” digital technology enterprises, contributing to the growth of the province’s digital economy, digital government and digital society.
Under the plan, Quảng Ngãi will step up efforts to attract investment in key areas, including digital technology industries, data centres, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, the Internet of Things (IoT), digital platforms and cybersecurity.
The programme sets the overall goal of developing the digital technology industry into one of the province’s key economic sectors.
It also seeks to establish a robust ecosystem of digital technology enterprises, develop a highly skilled digital workforce and gradually integrate the province into national and global digital technology supply and value chains.
By 2030, Quảng Ngãi aims to form and expand a digital technology business ecosystem, while attracting investment projects in software development, digital platforms, AI, digital data, IoT, automation technologies, data centres and technologies serving industry, logistics and smart agriculture.
The province plans to implement at least one regulatory sandbox initiative for licensing and piloting digital technology products and services.
The initiative is expected to encourage innovation and contribute to the refinement of the legal framework governing the digital technology industry in line with the national programme.
The plan also targets the completion of broadband infrastructure and 5G coverage for 99 per cent of the province’s population by 2030.
A shared data centre will be established and operated to support state management and the development of the local digital economy.
Looking ahead to 2045, Quảng Ngãi aims to establish at least one innovation hub or dedicated space to support digital technology enterprises.
The province envisions the digital technology industry becoming a leading economic sector and a major contributor to local growth.
To achieve these goals, the province will focus on improving institutions and enhancing the effectiveness of policies and legal regulations related to the digital technology industry.
Other priorities include developing digital technology enterprises and ecosystems, strengthening human resources, building modern and synchronised digital infrastructure, and promoting the sustainable development of the digital technology industry and its market.
