Vice Chairman directs stronger action against trade fraud on product origin

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, has signed Official Dispatch No. 2655/UBND-KTN, directing intensified efforts to combat trade fraud related to product origin.

Relevant agencies and local authorities are instructed to strengthen monitoring, patrols, and inspections, strictly preventing and severely penalizing acts of transporting counterfeit Vietnamese-origin goods across borders and seaports.

Authorities must also promptly detect and handle counterfeit production of Vietnamese-origin goods for export, ensure strict control over the issuance of certificates of Vietnamese origin for export goods using imported materials, and comply fully with current regulations.

Additionally, agencies are tasked to review existing policies and legal regulations on product origin, summarize difficulties and obstacles, and propose amendments or improvements where necessary.

The Department of Industry and Trade will lead, coordinate, and urge the implementation of these tasks.

Any issues beyond their authority will be reported to the Provincial People's Committee for direction.
